Earlier this year, President Gary Howard tapped Chris Carr, Lance Brede, Cliff Sherwood, and Randy Vanderbilt to revive the Vocational Service Committee.  The Committee has been working closely with the Eden Area Regional Occupational Program (EAROP) to develop a strong link between EAROP and professionals in the Club and the Community.  Chris reported on the Committee work and asked the Club members for their assistance.
The Committee has been working closely with Eden Area Regional Occupational Program (EAROP) Superintendent Linda Granger and Work-Based Learning Specialist Abraham Mendoza to develop a strong liaison that will tap into the network of professionasl who are willing to share their professional expertise with ROP students in a wide variety of occupations.  Currently, the Committee is developing a pool of speakers willing to share their experiences with students in specific content areas.

Chris asked any member who is interested in sharing his/her professional with ROP students to please contact Lance Brede (lbrede@ebparks.org) or him (ccarr@lasallemortgage.com) for more information about the work of the Committee and to volunteer to be speaker.  Vocational Service is one of the Five Avenues of Service in Rotary.  Sharing one’s professional experience and expertise with students interested in the profession or career exemplifies Service Above Self.

Watch for an email from Chris asking you to volunteer.
