South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project Restoring the Wild Heart of the South Bay Dave Halsing, Executive Project Manager - We have all seen the beautiful colors of the salt ponds as we have driven across the San Mateo or Dumbarton Bridges or flown into Oakland or San Francisco International Airports. In today's presentation, Dave Halsing, Executive Project Manager of the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project, describe why we see the colors, but more importantly, focused on the history of the salt ponds restoration.  Dave explained the history of the project, what has been accomplished to date, and what is planned for the future.  The restoration project started with legislation in 2008.

  • Carol Wikle provided an update on the Breathing for Life Project (0:05:16).  The trip to Nejo, Ethiopia scheduled for April has bee postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions. 
  • Ceta Dochterman shared her current foster dog that is up for adoption (0:5:54).  Please contact Ceta if interested. 
  • President Todd Anglin led a discussion of the Club sponsoring a Restaurant of the Week as a way Club members can support the local restaurants during the shelter in place (0:50:50).  Members contributed ideas and Jessica from JP's Family Restaurant and Sports Lounge described what her restaurant is currently doing.  Todd encouraged members to support JP's this week since JP's has been a strong supporter of the Club.  Watch for the Restaurant of the Week for next week.
