EACH VEHICLE CONSTITUTES AN ENTRY. PARADE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 10 A.M. SATURDAY morning of the parade. For the fun and safety of everyone, it is important that you listen to our marshals and follow the rules below. Thank you for participating in this year’s parade. 1. THIS IS AN ALL-FORWARD-MOTION PARADE. Performing groups should choreograph routines to maintain forward motion at the parade pace. No slow cadences allowed. Any unit that stalls the parade will be given penalty points. Maximum of 1 minute will be allowed to perform in the 100’ reviewing area. 2. ENTRY NUMBER CARDS will be handed out at the assigned staging areas. You will be notified of your number and receive a map indicating assigned staging area in the mail approximately May 2nd. Number card must be displayed on the FRONT LEFT side of the float or leader in marching unit, or on the left leg or stirrup of mounted entrant. 3. ALL NON-EQUESTRIAN ENTRIES must be in lineup position by 8:00am. Any late arrivals will be placed at the end of the parade. 4. YOUR PARTICIPATION IN NEXT YEAR’S PARADE WILL BE DENIED IF YOUR GROUP IS IDENTIFIED AS HAVING IGNORED THESE REQUESTS. ENTRIES CAN BE DISQUALIFIED FOR: A) Dropping back 50 feet from preceding entry, or closing in less than 25 feet. B) Not completing entire parade route. C) Throwing objects from float or vehicles, including candy. D) Shooting off firearms. E) Refusing to obey parade marshals or police. F) Non-Equestrian and Equestrian entries must stay in their designated staging areas. 5. Penalty Points: Points Violation 5 Delay of Parade 5 Equestrian units arriving late for judging 10 Non-compliance of forward motion throughout entire parade route 10 Not finishing under starting power 10 Unauthorized change of parade starting order

Parade Rules Continued
6. FLOAT ENTRIES AND DECORATED CARS must have flame retardant materials or chemically treated decorations. NO SMOKING WHILE ON ROUTE! Motorized units must carry ABC fire extinguishers. No open flames on or around floats.
7. EACH VEHICLE must register and pay as a separate entry. Car clubs must drive 2-cars wide. Car clubs are limited to eight entries; additional vehicles require additional fees.
8. PLEASE CHOOSE A PARADE CLASSIFICATION to be judged. Should you fail to do so, the Parade Committee will classify you as #20, Non-Competitive (Open).
9. ALL UNITS MUST PERFORM THROUGHOUT THE PARADE ROUTE and complete the entire parade route. Any time a unit is pulled off the parade route, it is to remain there until the end of the parade.
10. ENTRIES OR PARTICIPANTS INVOLVING VEHICLES OR ANIMALS must, at all times, maintain control of such vehicles or animals. For safety reasons, all people and animals on vehicles must be secured.
11. ANYONE UNDER EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD must be accompanied by a person eighteen years old or older.
12. EQUESTRIAN UNITS must be ready for the pre-judging portion at 8:00 am or will be judged as is and be penalized.
13. UNITS WITH SOUND or unusual noise will maintain volume at a level low enough so as not to interfere with other units. No loud noise makers that could scare horses.
14. POLITICAL ENTRIES will be accepted.
15. “JUNIOR” CATEGORY is 13 years and younger.
* EQUESTRIAN ENTRIES: Junior is 17 years and younger.
16. “SENIOR” CATEGORY is 14 years and older. One 14 year old in a group constitutes a senior unit.
17. All commercial entries should be decorated.
18. All Entrants shall comply with parade First Amendment rights guidelines
Parade Route
— ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PROHIBITED —
The California State Horsemen Association Rules will apply to all mounted entries. California Drum and Drill rules apply to all marching units. American Legion competitive flag code will apply to all color guards and/or flag lines. Parade sanctioned by Parade Sponsors of Northern California, Inc. The Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade Committee reserves the right to refuse any entrant’s parade participation if the entry is in poor taste, obnoxious or illegal in any manner or that misrepresents the conditions of original acceptance.
If you are a car club entry you are limited to 8 vehicles for the $50 entry fee. You can add up to three additional vehicles in the online registration form. If you want to add more then three additional vehicles please contact the parade coordinator.
