Let's Go Fishing Slide Show

LET'S GO FISHING

April 2010

Let's Go Fishing is a community event which brings together students from the area high schools, community groups like Rotary to mentor challenged students from the east bay schools. What a great time to show how a smile, a kind hand or even a smart thought can bring so much joy and peace to one person or child. Give me a fish and I will make it …

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

SLIDE SHOW

Children’s Christmas Party was held on December 15 at 4:00 P.M. at Castro Valley Adult School with Kim Murdock serving as the Chair of the event.  The afternoon included great food, ventriloquist John Stallknecht, Roy the Magician and a visit from Santa Claus, who was delivered by fire engine as there was not enough snow for his sleigh.  Special thanks to the CV Adult School for the use of the facility and the CV CHP office, who assisted Santa so that every child received gifts.

The 2009 Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade, “Back to the Future” theme was amazing and entertaining. If you missed it or if you attended, nonetheless this slide show will bring you the highlights of a tremendous parade … sponsored by Castro Valley Rotary.

Parade participants included the Alameda County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, which featured this year's grand marshal, Sheriff Gregory Ahern. Ahern walked a black, riderless horse with boots placed backward in the stirrups in memory of fallen police officers.

The parade chairman was David Fichter, and co-chairs were Castro Valley Rotarians Mike Turay and Bruce Johnson.

The Dale Yearian Memorial Equestrian Sweepstakes Trophy was won by Pamela Michalek, who was competing in the Authentic Novelty Costume Class, riding her red dun mare Honey Bee and was dressed in Old West attire.

The Non-Equestrian Sweepstakes Trophy was won by the Redwood Christian Schools' Little Red Schoolhouse float. The Little Red Schoolhouse was decorated and shown by Redwood Christian Schools students in grades 4 through 6.

California State Horsemanship Association Judge Paulette Webb presented the California State Horsemanship

Association high point championship of the year award for 2007-2008 to the Alameda County Sheriff's Mounted Posse.
