PROGRAM
rotary lawToday we had the Three Musketeers of Law Practice in Castro Valley: Jim Phillips, Mark Poniatowski and Alan West.  Each spoke on a different aspect of the law and of their practice.  Jim is primarily an estate lawyer and covered the multitude of items that need to be included in one’s estate including health care, managing your decline in health, living trusts and the role of the durable power of attorney.  Al spoke on what to expect if you get behind the wheel while intoxicated drawing a very powerful picture of what happens stressing embarrassment for the violator and his family and/or business, jail, suspension of drivers license, getting 5-10 letters per day from attorneys who want to defend you (and usually get their clients the same results that the violator would get simply pleading guilty), the types of fines to expect, plus the breathing device for the car to prove sobriety.  Mark spoke on Business and Real Estate including sole proprietorships, corporations, limited partnerships and a limited liability company.
Great job by three great Castro Valley Rotarians!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - In honor of our three attorneys:  A man phones a lawyer and asks, "How much would you charge for just answering three simple questions?"   The lawyer replies, "A thousand dollars."
"A thousand dollars!" exclaims the man. "That's very expensive isn't it?" "It certainly is," says the lawyer. "Now, what's your third question?"

LOOKING FOR THE MOLAR WITH THE GOLD GLITTER FILLING DONE “JUST FOR US” BY DR. HEIDI – Mark Poniatowski reached into the ticket container and pulled out Obse Lubo’s ticket, who then had a chance to win $25 with 14 teeth in the bag.  She did not win the $25, but did not pull a “Ray Wallace” either when he has to pay $5 for pulling out an infected tooth.  Obse did win $5.
NOTE: At the direction of Dr. Heidi, the weekly Castro Valley Rotary COG is being distributed directly by our Scribe using e-mail, by President Heidi using Club Runner and posted on www.castrovalleyrotary.org by Ken O-Donnell . . . hopefully this will ensure that everyone receives the COG every week in some form . . . I would have you notify BruceJohnson@rcs.edu if you are not getting it, but that would be silly, right?  Blessings!
