What's New at the East Bay Regional Parks District?

Join East Bay Regional Parks District Director Dennis Waespi for a discussion about what's new at EBRPD including a discussion about management contracts (golf course and events/restaurant) at Redwood Canyon. 

Mr. Waespi was elected to the Board of Directors in November 2014. He worked at the East Bay Regional Park District in a variety of positions for 36 years, beginning in 1974. Mr. Waespi served on the Castro Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors from 1999 to 2011 and on the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Board of Directors from 2008 to 2014. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board of Directors, and the Alameda County Parks, Recreation, and Historical Commission. Waespi received a Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies from San Jose State University.

Mr. Waespi is currently a member of the Alameda Fire Advisory Commission and the Castro Valley Sanitary District Community Advisory Commission. He is married, has two children and resides in Castro Valley.

Director Waespi represents Castro Valley, most of Hayward, Union City, and a portion of Fremont.

Parks included in his ward are Anthony Chabot, Lake Chabot, Cull Canyon, Don Castro, Dry Creek/Pioneer, Garin, Hayward Shoreline, a portion of Pleasanton Ridge, Quarry Lakes, and Vargas Plateau.
