OPENING
President Richard Short greeted everyone and asked Bill Jarvis to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by Bruce Johnson asking thanks for each other and for all we have, asking the Lord’s Blessing on those who serve overseas and our first responders here at home, Owen Smith and other members not with us due to illness, our meal and fellowship.

MAC UPDATE
Jeff Moore provided the Club with recent information, including the new $800 alcohol fee for businesses in Castro Valley and an update on the proposed Eden Medical Center project, plus that county staff are looking for alternatives to charging a higher child care fees to providers.
PROGRAM
Ivan Cornelius introduced our speaker for the day, Past District Governor Vinod K. Bhatia, from Mumbai, India, and a member of Rotary Club 3050. A Rotarian since he was 23 years old, he is married to Anjali, and they have two children: Varuni, a research scholar at Columbia, and a son, Mikhil, a CPA working as a business executive in Mumbai. He is the owner of Auto Spares Manufacturing Company. Rotary has always been part of his world as his father ws the most senior part president of the Jodgpur Rotary Club. Visiting the USA for only ten days, he arrived just last Saturday, and will be speaking a many clubs throughout our District. He shared multiple stories of transforming street children into having bright futures. He kept stressing that shere the world saw a problem, Torary saw an opportunity. Thank you for a great program.
