OPENING

President Dick Short welcomed everyone and asked Owen Smith to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by Bruce Johnson giving thanks for our speaker today, our armed services personnel at home or overseas, first responders, our Great Country, its leaders and our defenders.   

 

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Bruce Johnson shared the Thought for the Day from an unknown author: "We wildly underestimate the power of the tiniest personal touch of kindness."

FEBRUARY 13 - CV ROTARY FIVE-YEAR PLAN PREP PER CLIFF SHERWOOD

CV Rotary is preparing a five-year strategic plan and all are invited on February 13 to meet at Dwight Perry’s office (on CV Boulevard between Pete’s Hardware and Golfland Miniature Golf Course) at 4:30 P.M.  Dinner will be served.  Questionnaires were distributed, completed and collected.

MARCH 8 - CV ROTARY BBQ

Bill Jarvis reminded everyone of ur annual bbq fundraiser will be Saturday, March 8, at Transfiguration Church.  Tickets will be available next week for $25 each.  The evening will include the BBQ, an auction and a raffle.  Bring your checkbooks next Tuesday and get your tickets!

 

MAY 9 - CHILI COOKOFF 2008

The Castro Valley Rotary Club will host the 2008 Chili Cookoff at Rowell Ranch on Friday, May 9.  More information to follow.

Bernie Kempen’s ticket was pulled and with $36 and 18 marbles in the sack, reached in and won . . . .  $5.00 . . .   Congratulations!
